Artemis was born an Amazon as a member of the Egyptian Bana-Mighdall trible, which separated from the Amazons of Themyscira long ago. Artemis challenged Diana for the responsibility and title of Wonder Woman, as she felt that Diana's approach to her mission was too passive, her culture is extremely misandrist and more violent compared to the other Amazons. Now she travels the world in search of the Bow of Ra, a powerful weapon that the Egyptian gods gives to the true champion of Bana-Mighdall, The Shim'Tar.
