Ruthless assassin that attacks with a variety of weapons to bleed his enemies dry.

David Hyde and his father were mercenaries and treasure hunters.  Their last mission brought David to the Curry family home, where Thomas died defending his son Arthur, the future Aquaman.  Enraged, Arthur tracked him down and killed David's father thinking he was David himself.  The mercenary vowed revenge, adopting the name Black Manta and devoting his life to his crusade against Aquaman.
