Boston Brand escaped his abusive family and joined a circus, where he eventually became the main attraction as a death defying aerialist. His self-confidence eventually led to his demise, when he was shot by a mysterious figure during one of his acts, making him fall to his death. He was then recruited by the goddess Rama Kushna, who turned him into a wandering spirit with ever seeking justice for his death.
